Episode Summary

Your company invests in training, but do your leaders actually grow? Traditional classroom sessions struggle to change behaviour: most learners forget the bulk of what they were taught within the first day, and organisations rarely measure whether training changes anything at all. In this episode, we dig into why that happens, and what the science says about a better way.

Ayşegül Güngör, General Manager at Minerva Eğitim ve Danışmanlık, and Kamil Bozkurt, Business Development & Sales Manager at RoT STUDIO, walk through the global research behind VR soft skills training, including findings from PwC, Stanford University, and Brandon Hall Group, and connect it to the Minerva & RoT STUDIO ecosystem built around Time Management, Difficult Customer Management, and Leadership Training.

The episode closes with a live demo of the Leadership Training module, The Key to Success, an extreme-environment simulation that measures decision-making and team management under pressure, followed by an open Q&A.

“Your company invests in training. But are your leaders really developing?”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is VR-based HR and soft skills training?
VR-based HR and soft skills training uses immersive virtual reality simulations to place employees in realistic workplace scenarios, such as leadership conversations, customer interactions, negotiation sessions, and time-pressured decision-making. Unlike classroom or e-learning programmes, VR enables repeated, measurable practice in a psychologically safe environment, developing the behavioural change that traditional methods struggle to achieve.
Why does traditional classroom training struggle to change behaviour?
Research such as the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve shows that learners forget most new information within the first day unless it is reinforced. Brandon Hall Group’s 2020 Learning Measurement Study found that fewer than 16 percent of organisations can effectively track whether training changes behaviour at all, which makes it hard to justify the investment.
What does the research say about VR versus classroom training?
A PwC study found that VR learners complete soft skills training up to four times faster than classroom learners and are 275 percent more confident applying what they learned on the job. Stanford University’s research on VR and empathy also found that immersive, perspective-taking experiences build a deeper, more lasting form of empathy than traditional media.
What is the Minerva & RoT STUDIO ecosystem?
RoT STUDIO provides the VR technology, scenario design, and analytics infrastructure. Minerva contributes HR expertise, learning science methodology, and facilitation support. Together, the two organisations built a soft skills ecosystem around Time Management, Difficult Customer Management, and Leadership Training, all grounded in academic research rather than generic training templates.
What happens in the Leadership Training: The Key to Success?
The Key to Success places participants in an extreme-environment simulation, such as a severe snowstorm with limited resources and time pressure, to measure analytical decision-making, team management, and crisis leadership. Performance is scored across measurable indicators rather than subjective observation.
Can I watch this episode with subtitles?
Yes. The episode will be available with English subtitles once it is published on YouTube and Spotify.
How can my organisation get started with VR HR and soft skills training?
Contact RoT STUDIO or Minerva directly using the details above to arrange a discovery call. We will help you identify which module fits your organisation and what it takes to move from pilot to full rollout.
